Captain Don Reid's first job was deckhand on sportfishing boats while attending high school. It was the beginning of a lifelong love affair with boats and fishing. Next to being with his family of four grown sons and wife of 31 years, Anita, he'd rather be on the water with a fishing rod in hand than anywhere else. United States Coast Guard licensed, his goal everyday is to make your time with us safe, fun, and as enjoyable as possible.
Like Don, Anita loves to fish, as you can see by the big smile on her face as she holds a 12lb. 7oz. Coho fresh from the cold waters of the Inside Passage near Ketchikan.
Halibut, along with salmon of course, are probably the most popular eating fish caught in Alaskan waters, and rightly so. Firm, fine textured white meat lends itself to endless methods of preparation for the table. These bottom dwellers can reach weights over 400 lbs. but fish in the 30lb. - 70lb. range are more common-and superb table fare!
